Open News Perspective welcomes pitches that help readers understand how news is made, framed, checked or circulated. We value careful explanations over hot takes and clear examples over sweeping claims.
What to pitch
Propose an original, evergreen piece about a specific question in news literacy: for example, how a form of attribution works, what a headline leaves unresolved or how an image gains or loses context. Pitches should explain the reader’s takeaway and why the subject is worth a full piece.
What makes a strong proposal
Keep the idea focused. Include a working title, a short outline, the central point, the kinds of sources or examples you would use and any relevant interests or limitations. Avoid unsupported allegations, recycled commentary and proposals that depend on confidential material.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial enquiry option. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; please do not send a full draft unless it has been requested.
A headline is a starting point, not the whole story.
Read for the evidence, the framing and the limits of what is known. Careful attention beats a quick verdict.
