Editorial policy
Open News Perspective aims to make the workings of news easier to inspect. We explain our reasoning, distinguish fact from interpretation and correct material errors openly.
Accuracy and sourcing
We check names, dates, quotations and factual claims against suitable sources before publication. When a point is disputed or uncertain, we say so and avoid presenting inference as established fact. Explanations should make clear what information supports them and where their limits lie.
Independence and interests
Editorial decisions are made for relevance and reader value. Commercial relationships do not determine our conclusions or guarantee coverage. If a relevant interest could affect how a piece is understood, we disclose it clearly.
Corrections
Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. We review specific claims, check the available evidence and correct confirmed errors with a clear note where appropriate. A correction does not erase the original mistake or replace an explanation of what changed.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or partner material is identified clearly wherever it appears; it is not presented as independent editorial coverage. Some illustrations are AI-generated and are labelled when used. Illustrations are not evidence for the events or claims discussed.
A headline is a starting point, not the whole story.
Read for the evidence, the framing and the limits of what is known. Careful attention beats a quick verdict.
